Ausstellung: Shoe Obsession in New York

Schon Carrie Bradshaw - an dieser Stelle muss wohl nicht erklärt werden, aus welcher Serie wir die Dame kennen - machte uns deutlich, wer die wahren besten Freunde einer Frau sind. Vollkommen klischeebedacht widmet das Museum am Fashion Institute of Technology in New York im nächsten Jahr eine komplette Ausstellung der Frau und ihrer angeblich größten Leidenschaft.
"Shoe Obsession" zeigt unter der Leitung von Direktorin Valerie Steele 150 zeitgenössische Stile und hebt dabei die extremsten und fantasievollsten Looks hervor. Vom 8. Februar bis zum 13. April können wir die extravaganten Schuhhighlights bewundern. Die Exemplare stammen dabei aus etablierten Modehäusern, von berühmten Designern und Newcomern.
Mit dabei, die silbernen mit Strass besetzten Heels von Manolo Blahnik. Der wahre Sex and The City-Fan dürfte sich bei ihrem Anblick wohl noch an die passende Folge erinnern (kleiner Tipp: Stellt nie eure Schuhe bei einer Party ab). Außerdem zu bestaunen: die gefederten Heels von Bruno Frisoni aus der limitierten Rendezvous Edition, der berühmte Lady Gaga Winkelschuh designed by Noritaka Tatehana und Styles von Nicholas Kirkwood, Alexandre Birman, Alessandra Lanvin, Charlotte Olympia usw.
Neben den Designkreationen wählten die Kuratoren außergewöhnliche Schuhsammlungen von Frauen wie Schmuckdesignerin Lynn Bann aus, die alleine 20 Paar Schuhe von Azzedine Alaïa besitzt. Die Ausstellung ist kostenlos, also einfach noch schnell den Flug auf den Wunschzettel schreiben und ab nach New York. Wer es bis April nicht zum Museum schafft, darf sich auf das gleichnamige Buch zur Ausstellung freuen.
