Neue Designerin bei Net-A-Porter: Sophia Webster
Sophia Websters Debütkollektion bringt das kleine Mädchen in uns zum Strahlen. Die 27-jährige Britin hatte zuvor bei Nicholas Kirkwood, dem Gewinner des British Fashion Awards 2012 der Kategorie „Accessoire Designer", gearbeitet und startet jetzt mit ihrer ersten eigenen Linie durch.
Feminin, aber verspielt, beschreibt Sophia Webster ihre Kreationen. Deshalb ist es wohl kaum verwunderlich, dass sie beim designen oft Everybody's Darling Zooey Deschanel als Inspirationsquelle nutzt. Im Interview mit Nicholas Kirkwood verriet sie außerdem, dass sie selbst ein ganzes Zimmer voller Schuhe besitzt und auch das wohl nur knapp ausreichen würde. Ihre Lieblingsfarbe ist übrigens Pink - was beim Betrachten ihrer Designs nicht wirklich überrascht. Klingt alles sehr mädchenhaft, oder? Ist es auch. Und das ist schön so. Schließlich gibt es derzeit einiges an androgynem Schuhwerk auf dem Markt und da freuen sich die High Heels - Liebhaberinnen unter euch bestimmt mal wieder ein paar zierlichere, weibliche Modelle einer talentierten neuen Designerin zu sehen.
Die ganze Trendpalette der Frühjahr/Sommer Saison ist in ihrer Kollektion zu finden: Riemchen, durchsichtige Plastikelemente, Pastelltöne, Neon, Polka Dots und spitze, halbhohe Schühchen, wie wir sie in New York und Paris sahen, sind hier allesamt vertreten. Einen Schuh wollen wir aber noch mal besonders hervorheben: die Lana Sandale. Was für eine niedliche Idee ist das denn bitte? Kleine bunte Pailletten und Glitzer auf PVC in Kombination mit einer Lackschleife und T-Steg. Zugegeben, etwas kitschig, aber es muss ja nicht immer klassisch-elegant sein.
