Für den „Family and Friends"- Showroom während der Fashion Week letzten Sommer auf der Torstraße luden die Japaner verschiedene Designer, Künstler und Kreative ein. Diese sollten den "Mexico Midrunner" sowie das Modell „Lay-Up´72" und den Asics „Gel Lyte Speed" individuell interpretieren. Die Ergebnisse sind schlicht, aber schick und somit eine gute Investition für unsere Sneaker-Sammlung.
Im Endeffekt konnten Onitsuka und Asics das Designkollektiv Koi Klub, die Storemanager von Seventyfive aus Amsterdam, 24 Kilates aus Barcelona und den Designer Tillmann Lauterbach für die Kollaboration gewinnen.
Der Onitsuka-High-Top von Koi Klub ist in schlichtem Nude mit orangenen Akzenten gehalten, während das Modell von Chris Noorda für Seventyfive in Weiß mit blauen Details brilliert. Till Lauterbach entwickelte ein monochrom beiges Paar mit bedruckter Zunge und weißem Logo und die Leute von 24 Kilates entwarfen Sneaker, die in sandigem Braun und markantem Rot überzeugen sind.
Ziel dieser Kooperations-Modelle war es, die bewährte japanische Funktionalität der Schuhe mit zeitgenössischer Ästhetik zu vereinen und wir finden, dass das dem gesamten Team sehr gut gelungen ist. Die Sneaker sind ab sofort in ausgewählten Filialen von Onitsuka und Asics erhältlich.
