Habt ihr schon mal von dem Festival Istancool gehört, das Ende Mai zum zweiten Mal in Istanbul stattfindet? Ich nicht, aber das soll sich schleunigst ändern: Von Kunst über Mode bis hin zu Film und Architektur wird Kulturinteressierten vom 27. bis 29. Mai ein buntes Programm beim "Istanbul International Festival of Culture" geboten, das in Kooperation mit Liberatum, Englands Kulturinstitution schlechthin, Istanbul 74 sowie dem AnOther Magazine ausgetragen wird.

Das Festival soll Designer, Schauspieler, Filmemacher, Autoren und Musiker zusammenbringen und den Austausch und die Beziehung zwischen der Türkei und der internationalen Kulturszene fördern. Das Besondere: Das Festival ist für jedermann zugänglich und der Eintritt ist frei.

Teilnehmen werden Tilda Swinton, Kirsten Dunst, Courtney Love, Marco Mueller (Direktor des Venedig Filmfestival), Sophie Calle, Ricardo Tisci oder Ryan McGinley.

Haider Ackermann gibt einen Workshop, Michael Stipe präsentiert sein Filmprojekt "Collapse Into Now", Kirsten Dunst spricht über "What does Contemporary Cinema Tell Us About The World Today" und Sam Taylor-Wood stellt "The English Director", ein Stück von Samuel Beckett vor.
